Slyncy Agent Tray Version - Manual Start (Windows)

This tutorial is for the Slyncy Agent Tray Version on Windows

 

Profit Diagnostix can’t connect to the practice management system anymore.

There can be various reasons for this but sometimes the connector software provided by Profit Diagnostix to connect to you practice management system is just not running. This can happen because of a server restart due to updates especially when the connector software is running as tray version indicated by the green icon.

First check if the Slyncy Desktop Agent is running by checking the Windows tray for the green Slyncy icon:

 

In some versions of windows, the icon does not appear on the tray. If this is the case, open task manager and confirm that the following program is running

If there is no icon visible on the tray OR the program is not running in the task manager, the Slyncy Desktop Agent is not running and therefore Profit Diagnostix can’t connect to the PMS.

To manually start the connector click on the magnifier glas in the Windows task bar and enter enter “slyncy desktop agent” in the search field at the bottom.

The Slyncy Desktop Agent Desktop App should appear in the list above.

If there is no search result the Slyncy Desktop Agent might run on a different computer/server.

Click on the Slyncy Desktop Agent to start the app.

 

Now the Slyncy icon should appear in the tray or the Open JDK program should be visible in the task manager (see screenshots above) and Profit Diagnostix should be able to connect to the practice management system again.
